Blood-donation platform. Solving a healthcare social challenge with Web3.

Status: concept / research stage (as of April 2026).

We are examining the technical, institutional, and operational verification methods for a blood-donation mechanism built on blockchain technology, and planning the technical foundation and an initial prototype. We welcome enquiries about joint research and demonstration in blood-donation promotion and medical/blockchain applications more broadly.

Why we work on this

Founder Tomohiro Iida has donated blood seven times in total, but never on an ongoing basis — despite recognizing that blood-donor shortages are a social challenge in Japan and worldwide.

"Why am I not more proactive about donating blood?" On reflection, the main reason turned out to be low motivation. Raising this with engineer colleagues led to the idea that blockchain might help solve it — and, without deep expertise in the field, we decided to try.

Solutions we are exploring

Raising donor awareness

We think that notifying a donor when their blood reaches a patient, and letting them receive an anonymous message from that patient, can deepen a donor’s sense of the significance of donating — building intrinsic motivation to keep donating.

Building trust

We are exploring a blockchain-based mechanism that would let donors confirm how their donation was put to use, aiming to increase trust in blood-supply management.

Anonymous messaging

We are examining a mechanism that lets a donor and a recipient exchange gratitude or updates on how the donation helped, while protecting both parties’ privacy — connecting the kindness inside blood-donation activity through blockchain. The design encrypts messages using the donor’s public key, so only the donor can decrypt them.
